During the, TUESDAY, AUGUST 2, 2016, (OUR NEXT MONTHLY MEETING), THE EMERALD SOCIETY OF NEW ORLEANS WILL PROUDLY HOST A SPECIAL EVENT HONORING YOUNG CHAD “SUPERMAN” GROSCH II WHO IS FIGHTING, AND WINNING BY THE WAY, HIS BATTLE AGAINST LEUKEMIA. CHAD IS THE GRANDSON OF ONE OF OUR FOUNDING MEMBERS, AND PAST PRESIDENT OF THE EMERALD SOCIETY, BROTHER JIMMY ANDERSON.
ON TUESDAY NIGHT AROUND 7:00 P.M., MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION “KNIGHTS TEMPLAR” WILL PRESENT CHAD WITH A PRESTIGIOUS MEDAL IN RECOGNITION OF HIS TREMENDOUS FIGHT BATTLING HIS ILLNESS.
WE STRONGLY URGE ALL OUR MEMBERS TO ATTEND TO SUPPORT CHAD AND HIS FAMILY. THE PRESENTATION WILL BE HELD ON THE STAGE AT SOUTHPORT HALL WHERE THE KNIGHTS, IN A FORMAL CEREMONY, WILL PRESENT CHAD WITH HIS AWARD.
SOME BACKGROUND ON THE “KNIGHTS TEMPLAR”.
The medal Chad will receive is called the “Medal of Courage”.This medal will be given be given to Chad in recognition of his
“Singular Courage and Bravery” in fighting his illness. It is being given to him by the Priory of St. Bernard de Clairvaux which is a part of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (aka The Knights Templar).
The Knights Templar has their beginnings in the 11th century and are the oldest chivalric order in the world.
They evolved from an army of monk warriors who drove and kept away the Muslims from Jerusalem and the pilgrim routes going to Jerusalem for over 200 years. They are now a humanitarian and charitable organization that quietly does charitable and humanitarian work around the world.
They are the only Organization to have a special consultancy status with the U.N. on the issues of women and children rights and the right for everyone to have clean water.
They also maintain an office in the Pentagon negotiating the release of prisoners in the Middle East or improving the lives of captured prisoners.
WE ARE HONORED TO HAVE IN ATTENDANCE, A YOUNG MAN, MASTER AIDEN COLE SMITH, THE FIRST RECIPIENT OF THE MEDAL OF COURAGE.
